How many Come N Try's should I attend before becomming a member?

It does depend on the individual and how quickly information is not only learnt, but maintained. After a few sessions, we tend to remember you. Once we believe you're displaying safe behaviour regularly, we may approach you and ask about the idea of signing up. However, at any time you can ask us directly as well. Usually a minimum of 3 is recommended

What happens at a Come N Try?

At the beginning of the session, about 15 minutes is dedicated to safety and how to fire a bow. After this, the coach(es) will monitor each person individually shoot to correct any issues. After this, the group can all shoot together all 3 arrows. For the last ~30 minutes, we up the intensity by doing group competitions, then up it once more for individual elimination.

Is it fun?

We try to make it fun! While bows are not to be played with like toys, we as coaches like to crack jokes and have a good time. We're all volunteers here! So making it strict and serious all the time wears on us, too!

My child is under 10. What should I do?

Arrows Plus offer coaching for 8+ years of age. Unfortunately, our equipment is a little bit too big for younger than 10s. If a sibling over the age of 10 wants to shoot, and your other little one is 9, give us an email at southerncrossarchery@gmail.com and we can possibly chat about it. However, please note, this is a rare exception we may do, only if the 9 year old is stronger than average.

How do I pay?

At the club we have both cash and eftpos facilities for payment

What is at your club?

We have a toilet onsite which is accessible always to members. There is also access to a coffee machine (with pods) and purchasable soda cans, and bottles of water in the club house (Please note, the clubhouse is open most weekends from early morning to mid-afternoon, depending on Committee members availability. When a member, you have access to the range and targets on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.
