SCAC Come and Try Conditions of Entry

  • Booking:
    • The cost of the come and try is $20 per person ($50 for a family ticket*). Payment will be collected on the day at the club (We have eftpos and cash options).
       
    • Booking is required in advance online, and when you arrive on the day you will need to register at the club. Tickets will be emailed after ordering, however we DO NOT require these on the day. Just your full name.
       
    • Our Come and Try sessions are very popular and are in high demand, therefore:
      • Participants who habitually cancel bookings or who are no shows may have any future bookings cancelled to ensure others who wish to attend can do so.
      • To ensure fairness, participants who attempt to make multiple sequential bookings (e.g. book several spots every Sunday of a month) may have some of those bookings cancelled to ensure there is space for other members of the public to attend.
         
  • Address for the club is 142 Cranwell St, Braybrook 3019. Parking is available.
     
  • Age: Participants must be at least 10 years old to participate in the archery come and try. Any children under 18 must have a parent or guardian present at all times, you may not leave your child at the range.
     
  • The session runs from 9:15am - 11pm Sundays. Please ensure you arrive by 9:15 to ensure time for you to sign in and have equipment organised. Lateness will result in you not being able to shoot.

    9:15am - 9:30am = Sign in and equipment allocation.
    9:30am - 9:45am = Safety briefing and demonstration.
    9:45am = Commence with shoot.

    !!!PLEASE NOTE: Anybody arriving after 9:30AM will miss the safety briefing and will not be able to participate!!!
     
  • Equipment: All equipment will be provided by the archery club. Participants may not use any equipment that is not provided by the archery club during the come and try session.
  • Cancellations: The club reserves the right to cancel the event at any time due to extreme weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
     
  • Weather: The come and try will be cancelled in the rare event of extreme weather (Thunder/lightening, gale-force winds), if it’s just raining the session will still run. You will be emailed if the session is cancelled.
     
  • Safety:
    • You will follow all safety instructions provided by the instructors of the archery club.
    • You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others.
    • You will not engage in any behaviour that is disruptive or dangerous. You are not allowed to run or horseplay in the archery area.
    • Participants are not allowed to drink alcohol or use drugs before or during the archery activity.
    • All participants must wear closed-toe shoes. Long hair must be tied back, headwear must be fastened in a way that it will not come into contact with the bow string,
    • Loose fittings like strings on hoodies/Jackets need to be tucked in to prevent catching on bowstrings.
       
  • Respect:
    • Please be polite and respectful to the fellow participants. If you are not, or act in a threatening way, you will not be permitted to continue with the come and try activities and will be barred from future participation with the club.
    • This club and its activities are run purely by a small group of volunteers. As such when arriving you may have to wait to be processed and be provided with the equipment for the morning. Please be patient, polite and respectful to our volunteers (yes, our instructors are volunteers) who have kindly donated their time and skills to provide you with this activity. Anybody NOT being polite and respectful to our volunteers will not be permitted to continue with the come and try activities and will be barred from future participation with the club.
       
  • You will not wilfully damage any property of the archery club.
     
  • The archery club is not responsible for any injuries or damages that may occur during the session
     
  • During the morning the club may photographs of the session for use in our social media. We will endeavour to take such photographs in a way that individuals will not be identifiable in the images (e.g. photos will be at a distance, from behind, side, etc). We will also endeavour to notify participants at the start of the session if we are taking photographs on the day. If you do not wish to be photographed please let the instructor know at the start of the session. 
     
  • By making a booking, you agree to the above conditions of Southern Cross Archery Club.

 

*Family ticket = 1 or 2 Parents/Guardians with 1 or more children under 18.
